Choosing the right finish
The right coating depends on where the component will live. Outdoor structural and foundation bolts typically need hot dip galvanising; indoor fasteners may only need zinc plating; wear components may need heat treatment. We advise on the correct finish for your environment and standard, then apply it.

What surface treatments and coatings does Anco Bolt offer?
We offer heat treating, zinc plating, mechanical galvanising, hot dip galvanising, forging, metal polishing, molybond coating and painting, plus other specialised coatings on request — all coordinated in-house.
What is the difference between hot dip galvanising and zinc plating?
Hot dip galvanising dips the steel in molten zinc for a thick, durable coating suited to outdoor and structural use. Zinc plating is a thinner electroplated finish suited to indoor or decorative applications. We will recommend the right finish for your environment.
Can you treat fasteners and components you did not manufacture?
Yes. We treat and coat customer-supplied components as well as everything we manufacture in-house, so you can finish existing stock or combine manufacture and coating in one order.
How do I specify a coating for my project?
